2024 Men’s Retreat to the Cranberry Wilderness
April 26-28, 2024

Camping
Make sure you bring your sleeping bag, tent, hammock, tarp, or whatever else you prefer to sleep in, but don’t make your pack too heavy since we may hike a few miles before setting up camp.
Fishing
No trip into the Cranberry is complete without wetting a line, so make sure you bring your trout tackle with you and begin coming up with the stories about the one that got away! Be sure to buy your West Virginia fishing license and trout stamp before the trip!
Hiking
The Cranberry Wilderness and Backcountry is full of great hiking trails for all level of hikers. From the old railroad bed to the off the beaten path, there are hikes for everyone but make sure you hike in pairs due to the vastness of the Cranberry and the black bear sanctuary there.
Bible Study
Each day we will have a time of devotion and bible study related to the wilderness. The purpose of this trip is to get alone with God and fellowship with other men in a setting free of every day distractions.
Weather
The Cranberry Wilderness is always at least 10 degrees colder than Richwood (the closest town). Be prepared for cold nights and the possibility of snow and/or rain. Layer up and bring enough clothes to stay warm.
Disclaimer
The Cranberry Wilderness is a wilderness. There is no cellphone service, no hospitals, no electricity, no civilization, no pavement, and they don’t even have a Dollar General. This adventure is not for the faint of heart, but it will be very rewarding.
