Pastor Nathan Smith

Often referred to as 3/4ths of Randy Travis’ Three Wooden Crosses song, Nathan is a pastor, a public school teacher, and a farmer. Nathan became the pastor of River Valley Baptist Church in May of 2019. He has a burden for the people of Summers County. Nathan has a big heart for the youth having spent 18 years working in the Summers County School system, as well as attending high school and graduating from Summers County High School. Nathan delivers the Word of God in a way that is easy for every age to understand yet deep enough for the experienced to grow.

Thank you for taking a moment to visit our website and this page. My vision for RVBC is to provide a place that reaches believers and non-believers with the transforming power of God’s Holy Word where they are. My goal is to build up men and women equipped for the ministries that God is calling and will call them to. My hearts desire is to help as many people as possible. I believe that our greatest source of strength comes from living a life of obedience to God’s Holy Word and our greatest purpose is to share His Word with all people. My objective is to have a ministry for every person and every person in a ministry. My target at RVBC is simply this “Big church ministry opportunities with a small church atmosphere.”
